IS IT BAD TO BE A NON VEGETARIAN FOR A BRAHMIN?
Diya V Sharma, Doctoral Researcher In Shaivism, Advait Vedanta
Why only brahmin....it is bad to eat or kill any creation or be a cause of pain and suffering for a life.
However, a brahmin is supposed to be highly learned and if he becomes a cause of pain for someone....he will only be an ideal for popularising something that is karmikaly unjust.
There are plenty of reasons why nonveg should not b eaten, I'm mentioning just a few-
1. Biologically, all meat eating animals have short intestine and all herbivores have longer intestines. Since humans have longer intestines, they by nature do not fall under the category of carnivores and eating non veg is against the biological coding.
2. Eating nonveg leads to various heart related issues besides the fact that nonveg gives u only protines and fats. Vegetarian diet on the other hand is healthier and rich source of minerals and vitamins.
3. On a spiritual level....nonveg food falls under the category of tamsik bhoj and is not found relavent for yogis, sanyaasi for whom high levels of concentration is needed to gain siddhiz because tamas tattva acts as a hinderence in the process of concentration. Vegetarian food on the other hand promotes sativicta.
4. Our body is made of pancha tatvas. Meat promotes the fire tattva which leads to bad temperament and haughty nature in a person who eats meat.
5. Science has proved that the moment something dies, the process of decompression starts and various bacterias begin to emerge in the dead body. Thus, how can dead meat be fresh meat? Technically eating meat is reducing our stomach to a graveyard.
6. Last but not the least.....law of karma operates. What goes around comes around. It is our inhuman nature and lust for luxury and food that becomes a cause for our pains. Not only the Vedas talk of the theory of karma but the great scientist Albert Einstine gave the "Pain Wave Theory". According to this theory, the pain that we give to innocent animals travels at a higher frequency in the universe and becomes a cause of personal and universal suffering. It is this reason that many say "i have done nothing wrong and yet I have cancer or I lost all in live" when u sow thorns, u can't expect roses.
Not only a brahmin but every being should adopt vegetarianism as a way of life. Let others live in peace and harmony. If u can't be a cause fr someone's smile, do nt be a cause fr someone's pain.
